Monumental Expeditions is a small, family-run rafting company based at Chalk Creek Campground in Nathrop, Colorado, between Buena Vista and Salida.
During rafting season we may be out on the river, so texting is often the easiest way to reach us.

Our rafting office is located inside Chalk Creek Campground.
Nathrop sits between Buena Vista and Salida, giving us a central home base for the different sections of the Arkansas River we raft.

What's the best trip for families?
Salida Valley is our mellowest option and starts at age 5. Bear Creek starts at age 6 and adds more splash. Browns Canyon starts at age 7 and is our classic Class III rafting trip.
Do we need rafting experience?
No experience is required for Salida Valley, Bear Creek, or Browns Canyon. Your guide will cover what you need to know before getting on the river.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed on select Class II and III trips with advance approval. Call before booking so we can talk through the dog, trip, and current conditions.
Can you help with a group trip?
Yes. Contact us with your approximate group size, ages, dates, and the kind of rafting experience you're looking for.
Where do rafting trips meet?
All Monumental rafting trips meet at our office inside Chalk Creek Campground at 11430 County Road 197 in Nathrop.
How early should we arrive?
Plan to arrive about 30 minutes before your scheduled trip so everyone has time to check in and get geared up.
